About Young Star House

Young Star House is a residential group care program with various therapeutic components designed for northern children. Young Star House is a group care program that focuses on therapeutic services withing a DBT-informed model of therapy.

The facility at Off Lake includes licensed care for youth aged twelve (12) to seventeen (17) years old. We provide supervised structure and care to youth who struggle with trauma and exhibit behavioural issues that make them 'hard to serve'. We provide DBT informed therapeutic intervention and counseling to enhance child self-regulation skills that helps to develop resiliency. As such, we partner with regional First Nation’s Child Protection Agencies and the Ontario Jordan's Principle program to meet the direct service needs of children and families.
