Young Star House is a therapeutic residential group care program designed to meet the unique needs of northern children. Young Star House is a group care program that focuses on therapeutic services within a DBT-informed and Trauma-informed model of therapy.

The facility at Off Lake includes MCYSS licensed care for youth aged twelve (12) to seventeen (17) years old. We provide supervised structure and care to youth who struggle with trauma and exhibit behavioural issues that make them 'hard to serve'. We provide DBT-informed therapeutic intervention and counseling to enhance child self-regulation skills that helps them to develop resiliency. We partner with regional First Nation’s Child Protection Agencies and the Ontario Jordan's Principle program to meet the direct service needs of children and families.

Our therapeutic program Runs from mid-August through to the end of June each year. We are closed from July 1 - August 11 in 2019.
